Castle Theatre

The theatre was designed by Nicolas de Pigage and completed in 1753. The stage in particular is very impressive. This can be enlarged through a gate opening and the palace garden thus becomes part of the stage set. Since 1952, the Schwetzingen Festival of the SWR, the largest classical radio festival in the world, has been held here every year.
