Mirinda Reynolds: "with hearts alike - siblings and allies"
Mirinda Catherine Reynolds is one of the best-known artists in Schwetzingen's sister city Fredericksburg. She sees her artistic roots in the expressive coloring of the German expressionist Franz Marc, in the landscapes of the American artist Maxwell Parrish and the compositional structure of the Japanese art style Ukiyo-e. The Schwetzinger art project was created in 2022, on the tenth anniversary of the sister city relationship with Fredericksburg, Virginia. The mural consists of a compendium of motifs: monuments and buildings from the twin cities are interwoven with symbols that refer to the history of emigration over the centuries. Spread over three display pages, these combine to form a homogeneous picture story.
